Course Curriculum

“Strength & Surrender” is a three-part journey that blends mindful movement, breathwork, and introspection to free you from emotional baggage and empower lasting transformation.

In Part 1, you’ll “remove your backpack” by shedding what no longer serves you and finding relief. In Part 2, you’ll lean into discomfort, discovering a deeper resilience and capacity for growth. Finally, Part 3 invites you to bend rather than break, opening to new perspectives and flexibility—both on and off the mat. Each practice fuses purposeful intention with yogic flow to nurture clarity, strength, and self-awareness.

Part 1: Removing Your Backpack

Level: Beginner/IntermediateDuring this 30-minute yoga practice, Beth focuses on the powerful metaphor of "taking off our backpacks". It’s time to release the stored emotional, mental, and physical baggage we carry through life, sometimes on a daily basis. This flow invites you to step into a more present and unshackled version of yourself, embracing the idea that you can let go of that which doesn't serve you, or at the very least, set it aside until it needs to be tended to.

Part 2: Leaning Into Discomfort

Level: IntermediateIn Part 2, we’ll lean into discomfort as a means of growth, trusting that your body’s capacity is greater than you may realize. By embracing challenges and using breath to calm the mind, you’ll increase your resilience, discover deeper strength, and find joy on the other side of difficulty.

Part 3: Learning To Bend So We Don’t Break

Level: Advanced IntermediateIn this 45-minute practice, we’ll play with the term “repatterning” so that you may learn how to bend yourself so that you don’t break. We will channel willingness to do things differently, unlearn old habits, and embrace change that supports growth. This practice encourages an opening of the body and increasing flexibility, providing space for you to explore alternative ways to view your world and your way of being.

About Beth Stuart

A yoga instructor for more than 15 years, Beth Stuart’s work is her passion. Every time she steps on a yoga mat she teaches students, and herself, how to foster a profound connection between mind and body and internal harmony that benefits thoughts and actions off the mat.

After growing up in the mountain country of Sun Valley, Idaho, Beth attended college in New York City. Feeling overwhelmed and out of place in a big city, Beth was introduced to yoga and fell in love immediately. Driven to learn more about the practices and philosophies of yoga, she studied under some of the most well-known instructors, including Schuyler Grant, David Regelin, Tiffany Cruikshank.

Drawn back to the wilds and open spaces of Idaho, Beth founded idaYOGA—a yoga studio that specializes in vinyasa flow, restorative, and gentle yoga practices. In addition to teaching, she also hosts yoga and mindfulness retreats around the world.

Out of all the teachers Beth has practiced with, her son Jack is by far her greatest. Living with autism, Jack has opened Beth’s eyes to the value of patience, resilience, and unconditional love. Through Jack, she has learned that true connection goes beyond words, rooted instead in presence, reflection and understanding, and  quiet moments shared. He continually inspires her to approach life—and yoga—with an open heart and a deeper sense of compassion.
